FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves reacting a polymer solution in an organic solvent with an epoxidation agent. The epoxidation agent used is aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution with concentration of 0.05-0.2 mol/l. The reaction is carried out in molar ratio 1,2-polybutadiene:sodium hypochlorite = 1.0:0.2-1.0, at temperature 20-30°C for 2-5 hours at reaction medium pH of 10.5-11.5.
EFFECT: method of producing epoxidated 1,2-polybutadienes, characterised by high safety of the process, low power consumption and high quality of the end product.
