SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of household appliances. Machine for making coffee implementing the claimed method comprises a coffee powder dosing unit, a chamber for infusion with at least two nodes movable in relation to each other, an electric actuator for opening and locking the chamber for infusion. The control unit is connected through the interface with the dosing unit and with an electric drive for distribution by the dosing unit of a specified amount of coffee powder into the chamber for infusion and carrying out the cycle of locking the chamber for infusion and distribution of hot water into the chamber for infusion. The control unit is made with the ability to determine the at least one electrical parameter of the electric actuator during locking of the chamber for infusion, and the electrical parameter is a function of the current consumed by an electric actuator. And the electrical parameter is an indicator of force which is created for the chamber for infusion to reach the locked position, and the settings of the amount of coffee powder distributed during the subsequent cycle of distribution, depending on the specified electrical parameter.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables to regulate optimally the amount of coffee by weight.
