FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to monofilament dental tapes for removal of dental plaque and/or food debris from interdentiums. The dental tapes have a core body with a relative elongation more than approximately 10:1, a first cleaning surface and a second cleaning surface opposite to the first cleaning surface. At least one of the first and second cleaning surfaces comprises a number of ribs along their length. The relation of the dental tape width to the dental tape thickness makes approximately 4:1 to approximately 25:1.
EFFECT: dental tape improves tooth brushing, but also preserves positive characteristics of monofilament dental tapes, such as oral feeling, slight sliding between teeth and durability and chip resistance.
