FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used in metallurgy, construction industry and mining to ensure reliable operation of guides, slides, protective straps and other pairs of friction made from structural steels to reciprocate in hard usage. Part surface is machined by 6-15 mm-thick disc with working surface reinforced by hard alloy BK-8 that revolves at 50-150 m/s and is pressed against machined part at pressure of 0.12-40 MPa and displaced over machined surface at 3-30 mm/s. Beads are formed behind local machining zone with fine-needled martensite structure to extend above the part surface by 0.3-1.5 mm. Said beads are formed over entire part surface and directed so that bead inclined edges making oil pockets create hydrodynamic forces to support friction surfaces at speeds above 2-3 m/s. Said beads are formed in direction perpendicular to article travel in operation at the distance between them making L=(1.5-3)B where B is disc width. Besides, extra system of martensite beads may be created arranged perpendicular to first system with distance between beads equal to L=(3-10)B, or beads of both systems may be formed at 90-120° to each other. Note here that both systems are located in symmetry about part travel in operation. Besides, tops of beads are subjected to grinding.
EFFECT: wear resistance in semidry friction at low sliding speeds.
