FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: thrust bearing oil film to the registration of its operating modes comprises an annular heel (8) and an annular thrust bearing (10) disposed in the housing (11) of the machine. Heel (8) has a smooth work hardened surface, while the thrust of the working surface (10) are protruding rollers (13) of the small needle martensite friction, side surfaces of which form wedges together with the heel (8). Rollers (13) are arranged on the working surface radii, spaced apart at a distance L = (1.5÷3) h at the minimum diameter of thrust bearing (10), where h - the width of the bead (13). The spherical annular thrust bearing surface zone (10) between the working side rollers (13) are located "abradable thermocouple" (15) protruding above the surface of the thrust bearing (10) by an amount equal to the height of the cylinder (13).
EFFECT: creation of the thrust bearing fluid friction, which allows very quickly to register the temperature in the contact zone between the heel and thrust, instantly diagnose its operating modes - fluid friction and mixed friction.
