FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in emitters with controlled electron liberation, plasma diodes, thermal emission power converters, thermal tunnel converters of heat into electric power. Oriented pyrolytic graphite is placed in evacuated space between two moving plates. Graphite is intercalated from vapor phase by additives from two isolated containers, First, graphite is heated to 560 K. Then, valve of tank with cesium additive is opened to heat said tank to 380-400 K so that graphite is intercalated to phase state of C24Cs/C36Cs. Target phase state is controlled by expansion of graphite in axis C. Thereafter, aforesaid valve is closed to heat graphite to 773 K to open valve of tank with barium additive. Said tank is heated to 773 K to intercalate graphite with barium atoms to complete saturation.
EFFECT: process reproducibility, preset properties of target materials.
