FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing super-hard poly[(R)carbines] (R=H, alkyl, aryl), used to produce diamond materials. The method involves reaction of a compound containing a trihalide methyl group of formula CX3R (X=Cl, Br; R=H, aryl, alkyl) with magnesium in an ether-type organic solvent. Excess magnesium is decomposed with ammonium salts and the obtained polycarbine is separated by precipitation with an alcohol or by replacing the solvent with a halogen-substituted hydrocarbon with subsequent precipitation from the solution of a hydrocarbon of general formula CnH2n+2, where n≥6.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain poly[(R)carbines] with high output, cut duration of the process, and also makes the method of producing poly[(R)carbines] simpler and safer.
