FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing poly[(R)carbin], where R=H, alkyl, aryl, comprising reacting an organic compound containing a trigaloid methyl group of formula CX₃R, where X=Cl, Br; R=H, alkyl, aryl with lanthanide diiodide LnI₂, where Ln=neodymium, dysprosium. Method is characterized by that to solution of lanthanide diiodide LnI₂ cooled to temperature from 263 to 195 K with concentration of 0.1 M to 0.5 M in ether type organic solvent, while stirring, CX₃R solution is added concentration from 0.5 M to 1.5 M in the same organic solvent, taken in molar ratio of 3:1, the reaction mixture is allowed to warm to room temperature, water is added to precipitate, the obtained precipitate is filtered, the filtrate is evaporated till dryness, then dissolved in ether-type organic solvent, obtained polycarbine is separated by replacement of solvent with halogen-substituted hydrocarbon, followed by precipitation from solution with hydrocarbon of general formula C_nH_2n+2, where n≥6.

EFFECT: use of the disclosed method enables to obtain poly[(R)carbines] (R=H, alkyl, aryl) with high output without use of fire- and explosive or aggressive reagents; besides, this method advantage is that it does not require use of special equipment (ultrasonic emitter, mechanical activator), which makes it possible to carry out synthesis with large loading of initial substances in common chemical vessels and, thus, to obtain considerable quantities of product from one reaction.
