FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to means of out-of-furnace treatment of steel melt by granular calcination agents. Proposed powder wire comprises hollow steel dnp-ID-billet and filler. Said filler comprises mechanical mix of iron and calcium. Calcium represents cast or crushed pellets or chips sized to (0.01-0.4)dw. Iron represents crushed metalised pellets sized to (0.1-0.7)dw. Note here that 60-70% of pellets of total amount of iron are sized to (0.5-0.6)dw.
EFFECT: increased specific amount of filler and higher recovery of calcium.
