FIELD: personal use articles.

SUBSTANCE: household dryer (1) for clothes comprises an outer housing (2) and a drum (3) placed inside it to contain the clothes to be dried, and a heater (7) to provide circulation of hot air flow inside the drying drum (3). The heater (7) comprises a pipeline (8) of air recirculation, connected with its ends to the drum (3), and a heat pump (10), made with the ability of rapid cooling the air flow (f) coming from the drying drum (3), for condensation of excess moisture in the air flow (f) and subsequent rapid heating of air flow (f) which returns to the drying drum (3). According to the invention, in the heat pump (10) carbon dioxide is used as a refrigerant, and the heat pump (10) provides maintaining the entire refrigerant in the gaseous state at all thermodynamic transformations forming a closed thermodynamic cycle, carried out by the heat pump (10).

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the dryer.
