FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and method for measurement of stresses in walls of glass containers and thickness of walls of glass containers, which use fluorescence for quick and accurate detection of thickness of stress layers and walls, as well as curve of stresses in glass containers. In the invention a light beam causes fluorescent light radiated inside a side wall of a glass container in response to this light beam inside a side wall of a glass container. The invention contains a device of fluorescent light coupling for sending a part of this fluorescent light radiated in response to a light beam inside a side wall of a glass container outside from the side wall of the glass container. The device and method are adapted for large-scale production of glass containers.
EFFECT: device and method may be used for fast and accurate measurement of stresses in walls and thickness of walls of glass containers on a circumferential surface of glass containers.
