FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical measuring technique. Polarimeter submerged to control the fraction of aromatic hydrocarbons in light oil products contains a light source, a collimating lens, in a parallel beam of diameter D there are polaroid and a Wollaston prism with transmission planes ±45° relative to each other, a cell of length L immersed in the analyzed product. Cell contains the first, the second and the third windows and holes near the windows. Permanent magnets are fixed on the cuvette. Second window has a mirror coating. First and third windows are inclined in opposite sides relative to cuvette axis so that inclined incident and reflected polarized light beams at an angle θ=arctg[(0.5D+3)/L] fall on the input first and output third windows parallel to their normals. Wollaston prism is installed after third window, behind which lens is installed, differential photodetector, electronic unit: focal length of lens satisfies condition f'=Δx/2tgβ, where Δx is distance between centers of sensitive areas of differential photodetector; β is the angle of deviation of each beam after the Wollaston prism relative to the initial direction of light to the prism.

EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling reduction of measurement errors.
