FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a display panel. The method involves a step for cutting a first starting substrate, involving forming a crack (C) over a seal (15) on the outer surface of the first starting substrate (20), and enabling propagation of the crack (C) in the direction of the thickness of the substrate in order to cut the first starting substrate (20) into sections which include display regions (D). The method also includes a step for reducing residual stress, involving reduction of residual stress of the seal (15) in the associated block (30) in which the first starting substrate (20) was cut; and a step for cutting a second starting substrate, involving formation of a crack (C) over the seal (15) on the outer surface of the second starting substrate (10) and enabling propagation of the crack (C) in the direction of the thickness of the substrate in order to cut the second starting substrate (10) into sections which include display regions (D).

EFFECT: high efficiency of production.
