FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials produced from eroded reef coral sand to be used in filtration media for water purification by mineralisation. Said sand is placed in solution saturated with carbonic acid gas or acidulous dietary acid. Then, sand is rinsed and brought in contact with silver salt solution. Said solution represents soluble silver salt with organic anion, for example, silver acetate or formiate. Then, said is subjected to wet processing by carbonic acid gas or other solution containing carbonate-ions. Now, said is subjected to dry thermal treatment at 160-300°C.

EFFECT: higher purity, simple method.
