FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a halobutyl rubber. The method involves mixing butyl rubber solution, halogen solution in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a hydrogen halide acceptor and water. Halogenation of the butyl rubber takes place during the mixing process. The obtained reaction mass is separated into an organic phase and an aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is removed and halobutyl rubber is separated from the organic phase while the organic phase is successively neutralised, washed, degassed and dried. The hydrogen halide acceptor used is a compound of general formula: (X = O, S, NH; R1, R2, R3, R4 = H, Alk, Ar; Alk = CH3, C2HS, n-C3H7, iso-C3H7, n-C4H9, iso-C4H9, di-C4H9, tert-C4H9, C5H11, iso-C5H11, C6H13, iso-C6H13, C7H15, iso-C7H15, C8H17, iso-C8H17, C9H19, iso-C9H19, C10H21, iso-C10H21, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl and other aliphatic and alicyclic substitutes; Ar = C6H5, C6H5-CH2, C6H4-CH3-o, C6H4-CH3-m, C6H4-CH3-n and other aromatic substitutes).
EFFECT: reduced amount of hydrogen halide acceptor used, low process temperature and high content of halogen in the end product in exo-halogenated form of isoprenyl links owing to elimination of secondary dehydrohalogenation and isomerisation reactions.
