Luminescent lamp (LP1) and luminescent lamp (LP2) in liquid crystal display device (79) emit light when lamps are at turning angles within preset range relative to support (59). Luminescent lamp (LP3) and luminescent lamp (LP4) also emit light when lamps are at specified turning angles within preset range relative to support (59).

EFFECT: providing light-emitting device which restricts accumulation of ineffective mercury in luminescent lamp during emitting of light without use of luminescent lamp of special form, and providing liquid crystal display device which includes light-emitting device.
