FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water treatment. Sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid are added to methanol-containing waste water while stirring. The formed methyl nitrite is taken for absorption. The saturated absorbent solution is fed into a fractionation column for regenerating methanol. The distillation residue after regenerating methanol is neutralised and fed to the beginning of the waste water treatment process.
EFFECT: invention provides fine purification of waste water from methanol to the maximum allowable concentration level, enables to regenerate methanol and reduces consumption of reactants.
