FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of reducing the radar signature of an object equipped with at least one antenna, a sealed radiotransparent chamber is placed in the area where the antenna is located; the chamber is filled with a gaseous mixture; a beam of electrons is transmitted into the gaseous mixture; composition of the gaseous mixture, electron energy and beam current are controlled such that an absorbing and/or reflecting plasma volume is formed, whose profile provides a smaller radar signature of the plasma volume than the radar signature of the antenna.
EFFECT: multifold reduction of the radar signature of objects equipped with antennae using plasma systems with relatively low power consumption.
