FIELD: ground, surface, aviation and space technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technique for protecting objects from detection using radar stations and can be used in ground, surface, aviation and space technology. The method consists in the fact that in front of the object or in front of an object element that makes a large contribution to the power of reflected radiation, electromagnetic radiation and a plasma formation are created using a high-voltage corona avalanche-streamer pulse discharge, absorbing or scattering the probing radiation of a radar station. The discharge is triggered using a chaotic sequence of pulses obtained by receiving radar probing pulses, measuring the duration ti and pulses and the time interval Ti between them. Then, a sequence of pulses is formed with a repetition period less than the smallest of the values ti and Ti, and the repetition period of the obtained sequence of pulses is modulated with a chaotic signal. The discharge is started before the pulse reflected from the object appears on the radar indicator.
EFFECT: transformation of a regular sequence of radar sounding radiation into a chaotic sequence of pulses reflected from the object, having an amplitude, duration and repetition period, which vary according to a random law.
