SUBSTANCE: on the one hand, use of inerting system of closed space contributes to reduction of inflammation hazard by continuous inerting of closed space, and on the other hand, possibility of defining spatially separated zones of closed space with various degree of preventive fire protection without any need for structural separation is provided. It is proposed to introduce to closed space (10) at least one inert gas having density (Pgas) different from average gas density (Pgas) of the medium atmosphere in space (10), at which gas stratification is formed in closed space (10). Gas stratification consists of the first gas layer (A) and the second gas layer (B). Oxygen content in the first gas layer (A) mainly corresponds to oxygen content in the medium atmosphere, and oxygen content in the second gas layer (B) corresponds to certain specified oxygen content, which is less than oxygen content in the medium atmosphere.
EFFECT: reduction of inflammation hazard in closed space is provided.
