FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: when determining air-tightness of closed space, the concentration gradient is set between the atmosphere of the internal medium of the closed space and the atmosphere of the air space surrounding the said closed space by regulating the value of molar concentration of at least one component of the atmosphere of the internal medium of the closed space, particularly oxygen, which differs from the value of molar concentration of at least one component of the atmosphere of the air space surrounding the said closed space. The rate of change of concentration is then determined by measuring in the atmosphere of the internal medium of the closed space the change over time of the molar concentration of at least one component, and the value of air-tightness is calculated for the closed space based on the rate of change of concentration determined at the previous step.
EFFECT: providing maximum accuracy of determining air-tightness of closed space without considerable expenses.
