FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves measurement of current strength and calculation of process parameters; at that, measurement of current strength value Ie and electrolyte level le is performed by means of insulated puncheon of automated aluminium silicate feed system, as process parameters there calculated is electric resistance of electrolyte layer Re and cryolite ratio, measurements of direct current values are performed at maximum current amplitudes, measurements of electric resistance of electrolyte layer are performed at constant electrolyte level le and constant voltage value equal to 24 V, values of electric resistance of electrolyte layer are calibrated in compliance with current value of cryolite ratio of electrolyte, calculated values of cryolite ratio are calibrated with values of standard electrolyte specimens so that calibration coefficient considering the content of fluorides is obtained.
EFFECT: improving monitoring accuracy and efficiency of change in the electrolyte composition of aluminium electrolysis unit.
