SUBSTANCE: method to perform cryptographic data exchange in a device, which performs cryptographic data exchange with a unit of control of a replaceable user module (CRUM), installed in a replaceable unit of an image generation device, is carried out with the help of coding, by means of a controller in the specified device, a command and data with usage of a coding logic. And also with the help of generation of a communication message in the controller of the specified device by combination of a message authentication code (MAC) and a coded command and data. Further the communication message is sent from the specified device to the CRUM unit via a user interface.
EFFECT: higher reliability of data stored in a memory unit built in a unit of an image generation device, users are protected against usage of a non-certified unit.
