SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the unit, which includes built-in central processing unit (CPU), and device for generating images, using built-in central processor. Disclosed is the method for performing cryptographic data exchange in the device, which performs cryptographic data exchange with the monitoring unit of user replaceable unit (CRUM), installed in a replaceable unit of the imaging device. Method includes a step of encryption command and data for cryptographic data exchange with using an encryption algorithm. Further, the method, communication message is formed by combining a message authentication code (MAC) and coded command and data. Then one performs transfer of communication message to the CRUM through a serial interface.
EFFECT: high reliability of the data stored in the memory of the unit built into the device of forming images.
