FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing derivatives of ethylene urea and ethylene thiourea, which can be used in chemical, pharmaceutical and textile industry. Disclosed is a method of producing derivatives of ethylene urea and ethylene thiourea by reacting N,N'-bis(piperazinoethyl)ethylenediamine (PEE) with urea or thiourea in an aqueous medium with molar ratio of reactants equal to 1:1, wherein 40-50% aqueous solution of urea or thiourea is added to 60-70% aqueous solution of PEE which is preheated to 95-100°C and then holding the reaction mixture at 101-110°C for 3-4 hours and at 245-249°C for 0.5-1 hours. The end product is separated by filtration or centrifuging and then dried.
EFFECT: conducting the process in safe conditions, high output and quality of the product.
