FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: autothermal method of continuous gasification of substances (14) with high carbon content is implemented in vertical working chamber (100) made in the form of vertical shaft furnace, with burning zone (C) and zone (D) of oxidation with oxygen-containing gas. Gaseous reaction products are removed on upper side of vertical working chamber (100) and subject in zone (G) to repeated treatment in presence of water vapour at temperature of 500 to 1000 °C. Loose material (13), which is not oxidated by itself, is continuously supplied in downward direction of vertical working chamber (100). Substances (14) with high carbon content are added to loose material (13) before inlet (3). Oxygen-containing gas is introduced at least partially, under oxidation zone (D), owing to which ascending gas flow is supplied. Due to introduction of at least some part of oxygen-containing gas on lower end (4) of vertical shaft furnace (100), there formed is zone (F) of repeated cooling, in which loose material is cooled to temperature below 100°C.

EFFECT: obtaining high-quality synthesis gas that has no negative impact on the above substances.
