FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises emitting ultrasound oscillations by radiator into controlled article, sounding article vault by ultrasound pulses and receiving vibrations in air by receiving transducer. It differs from known processes in that transmitting and receiving transducers are located outside article, one on case side and another one on one of end faces. Note that, from opposite end faces, rod made from low conductivity material, e.g. wood, is fitted in article bore. Rod end face surface is skewed relative to article axis at definite angle. Rod end face skewed surface is directed opposite transmitting transducer and displaced in time with displacement of transmitting transducer. Article quality is estimated by signal magnitude variation on instrument display provided scanning duration complies with preset relationship.
EFFECT: qualitative, reliable and safe control.
