FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for shadow sonic testing of product's arch with ultrasonic vibration pulses. Shadow sonic testing of product's arch with ultrasonic vibration pulses is performed by introducing ultrasonic vibrations into the inspected product and input of ultrasonic vibrations passed through product's arch through air layer; at that, into air space between product surface and ultrasonic transducer there inserted is a thin cover if compared to the length of wave of ultrasonic vibrations in the air. Thickness and material of the above cover and distances from cover to product surface and from cover to ultrasonic transducer is chosen taking into account certain ratios.

EFFECT: increase of signal/noise ratio at ultrasonic shadow sonic testing of product's arch with high attenuation of ultrasonic vibrations therein.
