FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for ultrasound inspection of objects. A shadow sonic test is carried out on the arch of an object using ultrasound pulses and the ultrasonic oscillations which have passed through the object are received in air. Ultrasonic in the air space of the channel of the object are directed on the diametrically opposite part of the surface of the channel of the object at an angle approximately equal to the angle between two diametrically opposite generatrices of the surface of the channel of the object, after reflection of which the ultrasonic oscillations are once more directed to the diametrically opposite part of the surface of the channel, now at an angle twice as large and so on, until when ultrasonic oscillations at the last reflection from the surface of the channel propagate along the channel of the object towards the face with the larger diametre of the channel and are received at this face by a receiving ultrasonic transducer.
EFFECT: quality and reliable non-destructive inspection of objects with conical channels.
