FIELD: physics, measurement.

SUBSTANCE: application: for ultrasonic test of items. Sonic test of item arch is carried out by pulses of ultrasonic oscillations, as well as introduction of ultrasonic oscillations into controlled item and reception of ultrasonic oscillations passed through item arch via air layer, zones of acoustic non-transparency are detected in item, borders of these zones are applied on item surface, item is heated up to temperature of around 50±5°C, maintained at this temperature for 24-48 hours depending on item design and physical-mechanical characteristics of polymer material, cooled down to air temperature in production building, imitator of defects is installed on item surface near border of acoustic non-transparency zone, which represents a paper strip folded into several layers with width equal to diametre of piezoelectric cell in applied ultrasonic transducers and corresponding sensitivity of item ultrasonic control, ultrasonic flaw detector is adjusted, ultrasonic control of acoustic non-transparency zones is carried out, and item quality is assessed.

EFFECT: increased level of signal at ultrasonic control of items.
