FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method realised in the first communication device in a communication network to establish a setting of transfer capacity with random access for the first communication device, comprising reception (42) from the second communication device along a radio channel of data indicating capacity of reception in case of random access. The first communication device determines (44) reception capacity required for the second communication device with random access on the basis of received data and characteristic of random access configuration, which influences performance of random access detection on the second communication device. The first communication device determines (46) transfer capacity to be used in case of random access on the basis of the specified required capacity of reception with random access, and the first communication device sets (48) a setting of transfer capacity with random access for the first communication device in compliance with the transfer capacity to be used in case of random access.

EFFECT: achievement of efficient procedure of random access.
