SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Beam-based random access method performed by a wireless device includes a step of receiving a handover command from a network node, wherein the handover command comprises at least one threshold fitness value. Each of the plurality of beams detected by the wireless device is measured. Measurement results of multiple beams are compared with said at least one threshold fitness value. Specific beam is selected based on the comparison and a random access procedure is initiated.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing reliable continuous communication.
