FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device includes a sealing ring located around an electrode so that an annular gap is formed between sealing ring and contact shoe. Between sealing ring and contact shoe there installed is sealing device that has a cavity in sealing ring and/or contact shoe; at that, seal is made so that it can be installed into the cavity to seal the annular gap.
EFFECT: invention allows improving the resistance of sealing rings to severe operating conditions due to effective heat dissipation through them and improvement of mechanical strength.
