FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: result is achieved by determining change in sensor capacitance depending on the degree and quality of contamination of operating oil. The change is detected using a frequency technique. Also, the degree and quality of contamination of the operating oil are determined from deviation of the frequency of pulses of a tunable generator from a reference value obtained for fresh oil. Comparison is carried out based on an arbitrary pulse indicator defined by the formula where K1 is the frequency division coefficient of the reference frequency generator; T1 is the oscillation period of the reference frequency generator; K2 is the frequency division coefficient of the tunable frequency generator; T2 is the oscillation period of the tunable frequency generator.
EFFECT: invention enables detection of specific impurities in the analysed oil, increases accuracy and reliability of evaluating the technical condition of machines.
