FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine and aims at diagnostics of periodontitis severity. X-ray examination and laboratory research are carried out. That is followed with measuring the mandibular and maxillary root lengths of one of the similar teeth: a canine, a premolar, first and the second molars. The contents of subginguival space is analysed for the periodontopathogens observed. The root length and the periodontopathogens observed are used to state mild or severe periodontitis.

EFFECT: technique allows determining periodontitis severity when the exacerbation stage is not manifested in an explicit form.
