FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises zinc oxide crystal deposition on seed crystal in top section and from mixed melt of zinc oxide and solvent with density higher than that of zinc oxide in melt, and zinc oxide monocrystal drawing. Note here that in said drawing, fed are equal amounts of initial zinc oxide and drawn zinc oxide. Note also that web is arranged between zone of drawing crystal from the melt and initial zinc oxide feed zone to prevent turbulence in said melt in zone of drawing crystal from the melt during initial zinc oxide feed. Said solvent represents one or several compounds bringing about eutectic composition of 30-99.9 mol. % in units of zinc oxide concentration and having eutectic point of 700-1720°C and forming eutectic phase pattern with zinc oxide as soluble matter. Zinc oxide-to-solvent ratio in the mix makes 99.9-30 mol. %:0.1-70 mol. %, while ratio of solvent components varies from 0 to 100 mol. %.
EFFECT: higher quality of monocrystals.
