FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to making carbon-baring specimens intended for proximate quality analysis of graphitised filler in making siliconised articles based thereon. Said articles may be used in nuclear power engineering, chemical industry, metallurgy, etc. Proposed method comprises preparing raw stock, compacting it, polymerisation, annealing, and high-temperature treatment. Initial composition contains the following components, in wt %: silicon powder - 25-35, graphitised filler of-50/+0 mcm-grain size - 60-50, phenol-formaldehyde binder making the rest. Compaction is performed at 25-30 MPa with subsequent polymerisation at said pressure for 4-6 h. Annealing is performed for 10-11 h while final high-temperature treatment is carried out at 1850-1900°C.

EFFECT: simplified proximate analysis.
