FIELD: production of heat resistant antioxidation coatings on materials and articles having carbon-containing base; said materials and articles operate at oxidation medium at temperatures up to 2000 C. SUBSTANCE: composition which comprises 95 mas.% of HfB2 and carbon and binder (their volume ratio being 1:1, respectively) is applied on the surface to be protected. The process is carried out by spraying or with the help of brush. Carbon black, coke or artificial graphite are used as mentioned above carbon, 5% aqueous solution of carboxymethyl cellulose is used as said binder. When drying is completed the surface is treated by steam of silicium, the process is carried out within 1-3 h at pressure not more 10 mm Hg and at temperature 1850+50 C. It is preferred to apply composition on non-siliconized base of the material. Said heat treatment is carried out with the help of silicium steams, during said treatment interaction of silicium with the base of material takes place. This process results in production of silicium carbide. Finally coating having composition HfB2+SiC+Si is prepared. During interaction of said coating with oxygen of air complex high melting boron silicate hafnium-containing glasses are obtained. Glasses provide protection of carbon material against oxidation at high temperatures. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 8 cl, 4 tbl
