FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry. The chewing gum composition contains a chewing gum base, a biologically active ingredient, a polymer material and one or more sweeteners or taste-and-flavour additives. The polymer material is amphiphilic and has an unbranched or branched carbon-carbon main chain. Additionally, one or more side chains of the specified structural formula is/are connected to the main chain. The chewing gum composition production method envisages preparation of a chewing gum base by way of mixing an elastomeric material with plastifiers and/or softeners, and/or fillers, and/or emulsifiers, and/or waxes. Then the said polymer material is added to the chewing gum base. Then the biologically active ingredient combined with one or more sweeteners or taste-and-flavour additives are introduced into the base.
EFFECT: invention allows to manufacture a chewing gum with an increased rate of biologically active ingredient release from the chewing gum composition.
