FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: fuel-air mix is fired in engine combustion chamber in the presence of fuel additive. Note here that said fuel additive gets decomposed and offgas flow is forced through catalyst arranged downstream of combustion chamber. Note also that fuel additive is used to be decomposed in combustion chamber with release of ammonium. Ammonium-bearing flow of offgas is forced through, at least, one SCR-catalyst arranged behind combustion chamber to reduce concentration of nitrogen oxides.

EFFECT: higher efficiency without using extra equipment.
