FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: melting furnace includes a sealed container containing inert gas atmosphere, a pot that is placed inside the sealed container and performs raw material melting by induction heating, and a pot cooling mechanism. The latter includes a tubular part with an inlet that is interconnected with the sealed container and allows removing inert gas from the sealed container, and with an outlet for inter gas supply to the sealed container, heat exchange portion that is placed on the part of inert gas way along tubular part, and gas transportation section that is placed on the part of inert gas way along tubular part; at that, the outlet is placed so that it faces the inner bottom surface of the pit while the pot is in casting position, and the inlet is placed closer to lower side of the sealed container surface than the pot tip while the pot is in the casting position.
EFFECT: effective cooling of the pot after melting and heating.
