FIELD: intensification of melting silicate charge in induction furnace, namely at making heat insulation products of superthin fibres. SUBSTANCE: silicate melt is prepared by contacting charge with heat insulation body in induction furnace at frequency range 1-66 kHz and it is fed for manufacturing through draining ducts in the form of stream balanced according to charge. Apparatus includes induction furnace, melting bath, crucible with draw plate, inductor, hopper for charge with metering device. Melting bath arranged between inductor and crucible is in the form of annular cavity. There are draining ducts in wall of crucible for feeding melt to draw plate. Ratio of small and large diameters of annular cavity D/d=1.45-6.0. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method due to improved design of apparatus. 7 cl, 5 dwg
