FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: gas discharge switching device contains and anode, a cathode, auxiliary electrodes and a control grid positioned inside a gas-filled shell. The width of holes in the control grid on the cathode side is greater than that on the anode side.
EFFECT: reduction of the grid temperature of the cathode spot formation probability as well as shift of the reignition area towards higher currents which extends the switching device service lie.
