FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: laser contains a gas discharge tube placed in the resonator, a source of pulse pumping, a master oscillator and an additional power source. The discharge tube consists of a vacuum-tight shell, a discharge channel, electrodes - cathode and anode, and current leads for each electrode, an active substance, a heat insulator and windows for laser emission. The electrodes are introduced into the hot zone of the heat-insulated discharge channel and electrically connected to the current leads, and the anode and cathode are connected through the current leads to the output of the pulse-pumping source, the input of which is connected to the master oscillator. In addition, the gas discharge tube contains an additional electrode and an additional current lead. The additional electrode is located on the cathode side of the discharge tube and electrically connected to the additional current lead, and the output of the additional power source is connected to the cathode of the gas discharge tube and to the additional electrode through the current leads.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of increasing the energy characteristics of radiation.
