METHOD TO UPDATE INFORMATION ON UE CAPABILITIES IN MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC H04W8/22 

FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: base station eNodeB receives information regarding information on capabilities of mobile stations (UE) from UE and saves this information. eNodeB sends information on UE capabilities into a dedicated base station of packet switching (EPC), i.e. into a mobility management entity (MME). MME receives and saves information on UE capabilities. When UE changes from a waiting condition to an active condition, performs initial switching, or when some UE capabilities change, it sends a message to eNodeB regarding update. eNodeB receives the message and sends it to MME. MME sends a reply related to pre-saved information on UE capabilities, to eNodeB. eNodeB decides, whether UE capabilities saved in MME are the latest, being based on the message sent from UE, and a reply received from MME. If UE stores updated capabilities of UE, eNodeB may request the updated information regarding to UE capabilities from UE.

EFFECT: manipulation of information on mobile station capabilities in a mobile telecommunications network.
