FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in coal-tar industry. A coking chamber is filled with coal charge and the coal is heated. Volatile components of the coal are partially oxidised by supplying primary air. Unburnt volatile components of coal are burnt at the base of the coke oven. If necessary, steam is fed into flue gas channels in order to cool the base of the coke oven.
EFFECT: invention improves quality of coke without reducing efficiency, and also reduces content of nitrogen oxides in flue gases.
