FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for photocatalytic and adsorption treatment of gaseous and aqueous media contaminated with organic and inorganic substances. The composite photocatalyst consists of an adsorbent, silicon dioxide and a photocatalyst, each granule being a three-layer particle consisting of an inner layer - activated carbon or aluminium oxide or zeolite particles, an intermediate layer - silicon dioxide and an outer layer - titanium dioxide with an anatase modification. The outer layer of the composite photocatalyst is titanium dioxide with additives of noble metals such as silver, gold, platinum or palladium or mixtures thereof, in an amount of not more than 5% of the mass of titanium dioxide.
EFFECT: efficient adsorption of both polar and nonpolar contaminants and high rate of decomposition thereof to end products.
