FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and may be used for steel production in arc steel furnaces. In compliance with this method, off-gases are discharged via gas-suction bottom pipe with installation of plug at gas suction top pipe. After partial fusion of blend, prior to its sinking to top level of furnace walls, water-cooled roof is lowered with cooled cylindrical extension unless roof seats on furnace walls to continue blend fusion. Note here that off-gases are discharged via gas suction top pipe while plug is fitted at gas suction bottom pipe. Thereafter, oxidation and reduction steps of melting are performed and metal is tapped. Furnace is equipped with gas-suction pipes with bottom and top branch pipes communicated with gas suction chamber and supports are arranged at furnace wall side surface carcass. Note here that water-cooled roof is lowered with cooled cylindrical extension unless roof seats in place.
EFFECT: reduced specific power consumption, better ecological situation.
