FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises continuous loading by a conveyor located in a gas flue, heated by the charge gases exiting the furnace, and its melting. Before the continuous feeding of the charge, preliminary one-time loading is carried out through the upper open arch of the furnace with a weight of 40-50% of the total weight of the charge, followed by its melting until the power consumption reaches 220-240 kW⋅h/t, after which the rest of the charge, heated to 300-400°C by gases exiting the furnace, is continuously fed into the formed well by the conveyer of the gas flue.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the specific power consumption and the melting time, while simultaneously increasing the productivity.
