FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: expandable nozzle of rocket engine includes a flare, a retractable head piece, head piece fixation elements, an articulation linkage and a head piece extension drive. Extension drive represents an electric motor installed on the axis of one of the links of the articulation linkage. Electric motor stator is connected to one lever of the articulation linkage, and rotor is connected to the other lever. Articulation retraction linkage is installed on inner surface of the flare with possibility of being released after the head piece is fixed in the working position.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing the nozzle weight and improving its reliability.
